Mirror Image!

6-17-2009. . . .Mirror Image!

Isn’t it amazing the members of any given family remarkably and unmistakably look alike. To look at one is to see the resemblance of all the others. As believers, we are a part of God’s family. Ask yourself this question: when people look at me, can they see the family resemblance? Can people see the image of Christ in me? “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.” ( Rom 8:29-30 NIV) When we were a part of the world we bore the resemblance of the world, but now we are being transformed from the world’s image into the image of Christ. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” ( 2 Cor 3:18 NKJV) At times, it may be subtle and at other times more obvious, nevertheless, the transformation process continues and will continue until Jesus returns. “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.” (1 John 3:2-3 NIV)

Prayer: Thank you Lord for adopting me into your family. Thank you for transforming me by the Holy Spirit’s power into the very image of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen!

Eph 1:3-6. . . .Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
