WHAT DOES THE WORLD SEE!

9-26-2014. . . .WHAT DOES THE WORLD SEE!

"Obey God because you are his children; don't slip back into your old ways-doing evil because you knew no better.  But be holy now in everything you do, just as the Lord is holy, who invited you to be his child.  He himself has said, "You must be holy, for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:14-16 TLB)  Obedience is a choice!  As God's children, we are without excuse when we choose to follow our old nature and do things that dishonor who God is!  Remember, we were made in His image and after His own likeness; therefore, we are God's visible image in the world.  When the world sees us, what is their impression and opinion of God?  Does what they see draw them to Him or drive them from Him?

Prayer: Lord, thank you for creating us in your own image and likeness.  Help us daily to represent you to the world in a way that draws them to you and not drives them from you!  Amen.

Col 3:10-11. . . . You are living a brand new kind of life that is continually learning more and more of what is right, and trying constantly to be more and more like Christ who created this new life within you. 11 In this new life one's nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such things mean nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and he is equally available to all. TLB

A CLEAR CONSCIENCE!

9-25-2014. . . .A CLEAR CONSCIENCE!

For see, the day of the Lord is coming, the terrible day of his wrath and fierce anger. The land shall be destroyed and all the sinners with it.  (Isa 13:8-10 TLB)  "Life now is sweet and our joy is complete cause we are saved!"  While this is true for believers, just think of all the people we know that shall experience "The Day of the Lord!"  Good people with well intentions; friends and perhaps even family members.  Be certain not to let an opportunity to share the good news of the gospel with these people in our lives pass.  We wouldn't want that on our conscience.

Prayer: Lord, guide us by your Spirit into every opportunity to share the gospel with all who cross our path that are lost.  Help us live in such a way that when "The Day of Lord" comes, we'll have a clear conscience.  Amen!

2 Peter 3:9-10. . . . He isn't really being slow about his promised return, even though it sometimes seems that way. But he is waiting, for the good reason that he is not willing that any should perish, and he is giving more time for sinners to repent.  The day of the Lord is surely coming, as unexpectedly as a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the heavenly bodies will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be burned up.   TLB

TAKE THE FIRST STEP!

9-24-2014. . . .TAKE THE FIRST STEP!

"How does a man become wise? The first step is to trust and reverence the Lord!"  (Prov 1:7 TLB)  A Chinese philosopher once said,"The journey of ten thousand miles begins with a single step."  Have you taken the first step toward becoming wise?  Trust and reverence the Lord and your true journey of life begins today!

PRAYER: Lord, I pray that every person living will become wise and place their trust in you!  Life with you is far better than life without you.  Amen!

Prov 3:4-6. . . .If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself.  In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success. TLB

WHAT MORE DO WE NEED!

9-23-2014. . . .WHAT MORE DO WE NEED!

"What can we ever say to such wonderful things as these? If God is on our side, who can ever be against us?"   (Rom 8:31-32 TLB)  God is our resource and recourse.  What more do we need!

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for being our all!  Amen.

Ps 23:1. . . . Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need! TLB

PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

9-19-2014. . . .PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

"Work brings profit; talk brings poverty!" (Prov 14:23 TLB)  What one says one will do means little.  Only what one does counts!  Put up or shut up!

Prayer: Lord, help us to be doers and not talkers!  Amen!

Prov 21:25. . . .The lazy man longs for many things, but his hands refuse to work. He is greedy to get, while the godly love to give! TLB

WATCH WHAT WE SAY AND DO!

9-18-2014. . . .WATCH WHAT WE SAY AND DO!

"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;  Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation." (1 Peter 2:11-12 KJV)  As believers, we should always be cognizant of our behavior especially around unbelievers.  One wrong statement or comment that we perceive as innocent, could very well be the thing that causes someone to miss an opportunity to believe.   We should at all times, watch what we say and what we do!

PrayerLord, thank you for the people you allow to cross our path.  Helps us to always be alert and aware of what we say and what we do!  Amen.

1 Peter 2:11-12. . . Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;  Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.  KJV

OUR ADVANTAGE!

9-17-2014. . . .AN ADVANTAGE!

"Oh, how I love your law!  I meditate on it all day long.  Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me." (Ps 119:97-98 NIV)  As believers, we will always encounter enemies (haters, perpetrators, impersonators) along our path to glory.  The one advantage we have that makes us wiser than any foe, is His word.  His word is our light and guide.  If we will follow it, we will always have a clear advantage and end up in victory's lane!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your word that give us an advantage over all our enemies.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Amen.

Ps 18:2-3. . . .The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies. (NIV)

SIMPLY, GOD POSSIBLE!

9-12-2014. . . .SIMPLY, GOD POSSIBLE!

"And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.  And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full."  (Matt 14:19-20 KJV)  There are some things that are just simply, 'God Possible.'  Ours is not to try and conceive it, ours is to place our all in His capable hands and leave it.   A miracle will result.

PRAYER: Lord, we trust and place our all in your capable hands and expect the unexpected.  Amen!

Mark 10:27. . . . And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.  KJV

THE BEST WAY ANYWAY!

9-11-2014. . . .THE BEST WAY ANYWAY!

"You are my hiding place from every storm of life; you even keep me from getting into trouble! You surround me with songs of victory.  I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress.  Don't be like a senseless horse or mule that has to have a bit in its mouth to keep it in line!"   ( Ps 32:7-9 TLB)  Our free will is not a licence to do whatever we want to do.  Rather, we are free to choose God will and plan for our lives without having to be forced to do so.  His way is the best way anyway!

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for instructing and guiding us along the best pathways of life.  Thank you for keeping your eyes on us and watching our progress.  May our lives always be pleasing in your sight.  Amen!

Col 1:9-10. . . . So ever since we first heard about you we have kept on praying and asking God to help you understand what he wants you to do; asking him to make you wise about spiritual things;  and asking that the way you live will always please the Lord and honor him, so that you will always be doing good, kind things for others, while all the time you are learning to know God better and better. DON'T MISS TODAY'S APPOINTMENT!

9-10-2014. . . .DON'T MISS TODAY'S APPOINTMENT!

"You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion!  You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" (Ps 139:15-16 TLB)  God has us on His schedule today, but do we have God on ours?  If not, we should, because God had something very specific in mind for us when He put us on His schedule.  Don't miss today's appointment!

PRAYER:  Lord, thank you for scheduling every day of our lives.  Help us to be in sync with your plans and purpose.  Amen!

Ps 25:8-10. . . .The Lord is good and glad to teach the proper path to all who go astray;  he will teach the ways that are right and best to those who humbly turn to him.  And when we obey him, every path he guides us on is fragrant with his loving-kindness and his truth. TLB

NEVER CAUGHT OFF GUARD!

9-9-2014. . . .NEVER CAUGHT OFF GUARD!

"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.  He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them.  He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.  He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him." (Dan 2:20-22 NIV)  Nothing catches God off guard; He is always in control and has everything under His control!  He ordains the start, pauses, stops, and ending of every season.  He knows what we don't know about every situation and if we are wise and seek His guidance, He will reveal to us what the enemy desires to conceal and keep from us!

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for being in control and having everything under your control.  You set the bounds of our lives and ordain every season.  Help us to trust you and always look to you for guidance.  Amen!

Ps 121:7-8. . . . The LORD will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. NIV

COMPLETE CONFIDENCE!

9-5-2013. . . .COMPLETE CONFIDENCE!

"Lord, have mercy on me; all day long the enemy troops press in. So many are proud to fight against me; how they long to conquer me. But when I am afraid, I will put my confidence in you. Yes, I will trust the promises of God. And since I am trusting him, what can mere man do to me? (Ps 56:1-5 TLB)  There will be times when from every direction, nothing but enemies will be confronting us. Knowing in advance that God is all we need is reassuring and makes it much easier to put our trust and complete confidence in Him, before we reach the point where we realize God is all we've got!

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for being on our side and being all that we need.  Our complete trust and confidence is in you.  Amen!

Rom 8:31. . . .What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  KJV

THE PERFECTING PROCESS!

9-3-2014. . . .THE PERFECTING PROCESS!

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,  To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." (Jude 24-25 KJV)  Our failures are not final or fatal because the perfecting process will continue on to completion!  With great joy, Jesus our Savior, will Himself present the finished to work to the Father at the appointed time.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for your commitment to our perfecting process!  We look forward to being the finished work you present to the Father at the appointed time.  Amen!

Phil 1:5-6. . . . And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns. TLB
