5-6-2009. . . ."Live Long and Prosper!"
One of the most popular television shows of all time is Star Trak! Leonard Nimoy played the character, Mr. Spock! Mr. Spock was from the planet Vulcan. On Vulcan, they greet one another with a wonderful salutation. With hand extended and fingers forming a “V” they would say, “Live Long and Prosper! Even as a young child, I was fascinated by that statement and I thought to myself, "Wow, they know God on Vulcan too!" Of course, as I grew older I came to understand that the show, it’s characters and even the planets were fictional. However, the Vulcan salutation is not fictional at all. As a matter of fact, it expresses God’s desire for us! “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2 NKJV) God’s desire is for us to first, have a long and healthy life. In fact, had Adam not sinned, we would have never experienced death or illness. Yet in spite of Adam’s disobedience, God’s desire for us remains the same. “…And let them say continually, "The LORD be magnified, Who delights in the prosperity of His servant." (Ps 35:27 NAS) Starting today, get in agreement with God’s desire for your life! Make sure you do your part! Eat healthy. . . .exercise daily. . . .get plenty of rest. (Be in Health) Be fruitful and multiply. . . . .Use your resources wisely and live within your means. . . . .keep the windows of heaven open for you by always returning unto God His tithe and our offerings of our time, talent and treasure. (Prosper as your soul Prospers) "And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” (Deut 8:18-19NKJV) Live long and prosper my friends!
Prayer: Lord, all things come from thee oh God and of thy own I freely give you my time, talents and treasure. Thank you Lord for the gifts of health and prosperity!
3 John 2. . . .Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. (NIV)
Well said, I like that.
ReplyDeleteStar Trak's motto was to always go where no man has gone before. That's why I want to go some where I never been, Heaven. e.l.b.
