4-13-09. . . .Anticipation!
What are you looking forward to? Perhaps starting a new job. . .starting a new relationship. . . your next birthday. . .lunch with friends or co-workers. . .getting off from work today and going home to be with your family. Anticipation is looking forward with certainty, to a thing or event we know will happen. Are you anticipating Jesus’ return? It could happen and moment now, you know! Jesus said, “…I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:2-3 KJV) It may be in the morning, maybe at noonday. . . .maybe in the evening or at midnight! It may be while we are working or while we are sleeping. One thing is for certain. It’s going to happen. The disciples were asked when Jesus departed into heaven, “…why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (Acts 1:11 KJV) Are you anticipating His return or have you been lured into a false sense of security in thinking that His return will yet be delayed. Delayed or not, we are to live in a state of readiness and anticipation of His return. Remember the ten virgins of Matthew 25? Five were wise and five were foolish! In what group or you. . . .wise or foolish? “...Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. (Matt 25:13) Anticipation. . . . the condition of looking forward to something! "...For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. "(Heb 10:37 KJV)
Prayer: Lord, with great anticipation we look forward to your return. Thank you for loving us enough to return for us so that we may be together throughout eternity. Amen!
Rev 22:20-21 "He who has said all these things declares: Yes, I am coming soon!" Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen! (TLB)
Keep up the great work.
