GO FOR THE GUSTO!

11-19-2009. . . .GO FOR THE GUSTO!

We may be somewhat reluctant to admit it, but when we were in the world and of the world (sinners) we gave it our all. We went proverbially, for the 'gusto'. In like manner, having been saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost; having been called from death unto life we should go for the full gusto of Holiness! "For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." (Rom 6:20-22 KJV) Go for the gusto!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving us everything that pertains unto life and to godliness! With this blessing we go for the full gusto of holiness with the end result of eternal life with you! Amen.

Rom 6:20-23. . . . In those days when you were slaves of sin you didn't bother much with goodness. And what was the result? Evidently not good, since you are ashamed now even to think about those things you used to do, for all of them end in eternal doom. But now you are free from the power of sin and are slaves of God, and his benefits to you include holiness and everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. TLB
